Kedai Makan Fong Wee

This was the last day in Batu Pahat. I gotta make sure that I have a good meal on my last day. Thus, my friend brought me to try his favorite beef minced noodle.

Beef minced noodle (RM 2.60) was handmade noodle with minced beef, a little oil and bean sprouts. The noodle was a bit elastic and fragant from the minced beef. The noodle was too mild to me. 2.5/5

This eatery is famous for its handmade touchee (soy stick) (RM 0.60 per stick). Touchee is a type of food made from well seasoned fish meat and flour and is wrapped with tougee (soy product). It is then deeply fried until golden brown and crispy. The touchee was indeed very good but I found it a little too salty. 3.5/5

Mat Bond Bariani House

This eatery is famous for its delicious nasi briyani. My friend told me about this eatery before and I was excited that I could finally give it a try.

Nasi briyani with rendang kambing (RM 7.00) looked very inviting. The rice was creamy and sticky from the variety of spices. Rendang is like curry but the curry is not watery, thicker and has stronger flavor. The mutton buried beneath the rice was very soft and tender indicating long hours of cooking. 4/5

Nasi briyani is usually served with crackers and curry.

Bandung syrup is milk flavored drink with rose cordial syrup. I don't usually order this drink because I think that the drink tastes like medicine.

Dofull Family Restaurant

This restaurant offers food from Taiwan. My friend's sister who stayed in Taiwan for many years claimed that the food sold in this restaurant is similar to the food that she used to have in Taiwan. The ambience here reminded me of Old Town.

I ordered strawberry tofu (RM 5.00). I usually eat douhua (a type of food made from coagulated soy milk) but have never eaten douhua with strawberry before so I decided to give it a try. I didn't find anything special about this dish except for the addition of sour strawberries. 2/5

My friend opted for strawberry milk snow ice (RM 12.00). The snow ice was well blended and flavored with milk. The strawberries and colorful chocolate chips as topping made the dish looked very appetising. 3/5

Unagi Sushi

I went to jusco supermarket to buy some groceries. I came across the japanese food section and saw packages of mouth-watering unagi sushi. A piece of sushi was as huge as california sushi and each packages was sold for RM12.90 only! The slices of unagi were so thick and cheap that I couldn't refrain myself from buying.

Tea Break at Pavilion

Tired from walking at Pavilion, we decided to find a nice, cosy place to take a break.

Spotted this luxurious looking restaurant and we immediately decided to have a tea break there. The service was very good and the waitresses were very polite. Although Emperor Q is a chinese restaurant, it also offers japanese dishes but most of them are more expensive than japanese restaurant.

Iced green tea latte (RM 7.50) was a mixture of green tea and milk. This drink was thick like ice blended coffee. 3.25/5

I opted ice macha with caramel (RM 8.50). As it was not as thick as iced green tea latte, it was more refreshing and perfectly quenched my thirst. 3.5/5

You can order desserts from MOF Japanese Sweets & Coffee (just opposite the restaurant) at Emperor Q because they are under the same chain of restaurants.

Chewy Junior

Chewy Junior is a chain of cafes originated from Singapore. They always have free cream puffs for the passers-by to try which I enjoy very much. Hehe.

I decided to try on the go (RM 6.50) (not sure of its name but its stated like this on the receipt) with vanilla cream filling and chocolate dressing. The vanilla cream filling tasted like ice cream due to the low temperature at the surrounding. Unlike doughnuts, the dough of cream puffs were harder and crispy. Chewy cream puffs were also baked rather than fried and were much healthier. 2.5/5
